This Refund Policy describes the circumstances under which refunds may be issued for services provided by Corrupt Backup Repair. Please read this policy alongside our Terms and Conditions.
Corrupt Backup Repair provides technical diagnostic and recovery services. Because our services involve skilled technical work applied to a specific file submitted by the client, the nature of what is deliverable is determined by the condition of the file itself rather than by a fixed specification. Recovery outcomes cannot be guaranteed in advance.
All clients receive a written diagnostic assessment prior to any paid recovery work being commissioned. This assessment describes the file's condition and what recovery options exist. The client decides whether to proceed on the basis of this assessment.
Where a diagnostic assessment fee is charged, this fee covers the time and technical work involved in examining the submitted file and producing a written report. The diagnostic assessment fee is non-refundable once the assessment has been delivered, as the work involved in producing it has been completed.
If we are unable to complete a diagnostic assessment due to an error or omission on our part, the assessment fee will be refunded in full.
Where recovery work is commissioned following a diagnostic assessment, the recovery fee is charged for the time and technical work involved in the recovery attempt, not for a specific quantity of data recovered. Recovery work fees are non-refundable once the work has commenced, because the technical effort involved cannot be reversed.
However, we will not commence recovery work without first providing the client with a clear description of what we expect to be achievable. If the actual recovery outcome falls materially below what we indicated in our pre-work assessment, we will discuss a partial or full refund of the recovery fee with the client at our discretion.
Refunds may be considered in the following circumstances:
Refunds will not be issued solely on the basis that the recovered data was insufficient for the client's purposes, where this outcome was described as a possibility in the pre-work assessment.
Refund requests should be submitted in writing to [email protected] within 14 days of the service delivery date. Please include the engagement reference, the grounds for the refund request, and any supporting details. We will acknowledge the request within two working days and provide a decision within ten working days.
This policy does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 where applicable to your engagement.
